I am definitely not your typical therapist.

Everything I learned about emotion I learned after the age of thirty. So if you are the one who is without words when someone says: How are you feeling? I GET it. And I know how to help.

I was a computer network engineer for 20 yrs before becoming a therapist. Whether it's between two people or two computers I've been fascinated by communication my whole working life. I am in love with all the ways, whys, and hows of communication.

There is deep and transformative stuff to be had in the spaces between ourselves and the rest of the world.  I specialize in working in those spaces.  I help people to hear all the silent bits, to deepen, widen, and ultimately gently hold all of those pieces of ourselves with kindness, compassion, and care.  When you know the territory between yourself and the world you increase your options for responding to the world, you gain freedom, peace, and space.

My goal as a counselor is to create a supportive environment in which clients feel free to explore their emotional needs and overcome barriers that limit their full potential. I offer compassionate, supportive psychotherapy for individuals and couples.
When working with clients I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Non Violent (compassionate) Communication (NVC).   I am a member of seattleeft.com and a lifetime member of iceeft.com, both organizations are designed to support, train, and enrich the practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy.
